I live in Italy but often shop online and in several UK beauty magazines Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant is described as a miraculous cream for skin. I'm not really sure about its efficacy, what do you think? Should I try it? Did it give you the results they promise?

8 Hour Cream is more of a balm, rather than a cream. It is herbally, it was originally used for Elizabeth Ardens horses, to soften their skin, she found it worked so good, that she released it.
It is used for any dry patches of skin, anywhere on the body, it isnt really for applying everywhere, but I find its good if i have dry skin in the winter to apply a thin layer before bed and let it sink in over night.
It's also good for spots, (brings down the redness) grazes, scratches, dry skin on the lips, slicking down eyebrows, highlighting the brow bone, cheek bones and shoulders. Also very good for cuticles and the nails.
For dry hands, there 8 hour hand cream is amazing, one of the best on the market.
The good thing is, a tube lasts for ages, years even. You only need to use a tiny amount!

I would go into a shop which sells it or email the company and ask for a sample first that way you won't be wasting any money if you dont like it. I think you will though, i have heard amazing things about it and all the celebrities use it. I would definitly give it a go but I have oily skin so it wouldn't suit me. Hope this helps :) xxxx
i agree with the first comment, its supposed to be brilliant when u have dry patched of skin or want to add a bit of glow to ur cheeks, eyes, etc
i found it didnt sink into skin, just sat on top so didnt help with dry skin and it looked to greasy and slipped of to use as the latter
save ur money and dont bother, its all a bit of hype
hoewever i do have the 8hr conditioning lip balm in stick form, thats really good, but u dont think its any better than Carmex which is cheaper
oh its also not a cream, i expected a white product which is like a moisturiser but its more like a balm
It's not that brilliant to be honest. Vaseline is cheaper and doesn't have a nasty smell like Eliz Arden.
I think it has been hyped up over the years, so don't waste your money!

no! it gives me a yellowish look! and it makes my skin greasy and i get bad breakouts when I use it. I always have clear skin unless I use that rotten stuff. if your looking for a good foundation at a reasonable price try covergirl trueblend.
Well tbh no foundation is good for you unfortunately. It dries your skin and it doesn't let your skin breathe. Although all of the research put into investigating make up no ingredients show a chance of causing cancer or re product toxicity. And by law all the make up that is sold in stores are checked by the Food and Drug Administration. But some foundations do contain green tea particles but if they do they usually write it on the bottle. And so far almost no injury's have been discovered due to make up. So your safe.Hope i helped!

I want to knw if this cream wil help to take away the occasional pimple on the chin and jawline and if it wil help to sooth my red rashy skin afta wash. How many time should u apply the cream. Clarins have a good oil based treatment which can be used all over but just for a short time. If your face is going rashy after cleansing maybe you should stop cleansing for a while and just rinse your face with cold water and then apply EA. I have used EA and found it good.

My wife doesn't get the hype on this one either, she wanted to try some. I bought her some as a treat. She found it claggy, like vaseline and treacle mixed and she said it stinks, I had a whiff and to be honest it smells like old cheese so I have joined the Mrs in the ';don't know what all the fuss is about';, camp! It's bloody expensive too!!
I tried a sample of it, i think it's no different to vaseline %26amp; does the same job excpet it's more glamourous %26amp; has nicer packaing... just as vaseline comes handy for so many make-up applications, this does too but make-up artists/models don't like to use vaseline becos they can afford a more expensive version!!!

Yes, its rich and will make your skin soft, but it is inclined to be greasy and I dont think it is really suitable for anyone under that age group. I recommend Garnier, they make a HUGE range of skincare products and I use one of those. They are reasonably priced and as long as you use every day and you choose the right type for your skin, you should be pleased with the results.
But remember no cream is a miracle, it lasts as long as it stays on your face - leave it off for a few days and you will notice you are losing what you've gained, keep this in mind when choosing a cream, as well as the price of it, because once you start, you will want to carry on!
It's a really good all rounder, so if you are going on hols it's perfect as you can save space by taking this which you can use as a face mask on the flight to stop your skin getting dehydrated, a gloss for your eyelids, smooth onto your eyelashes at night to make them thick and lustrous in the morning, a lip balm / gloss, to smooth the dry skin on your knees and elbows, hilight your cheekbones by rubbing a bit at the top, cuticle moisturiser to keep your nails happy. Brilliant!
I brought it but to be honest i hardly ever use it. Its meant to be brilliant at healing skin conditions so i brought it because everyone raves about it. At the time it was winter so my dry skin was causing a bit of a problem again so i used it on my chapped lips and dry skin but it didn't really help my lips and it felt greasy on my skin. Plus my boyfriend wouldn't ever kiss me when I put it on my lips cos he said the stuff tasted like pepper! Lol. Seriously, people say it has all these uses and is really versatile but so is vaseline and Savlon skin healing cream! Its definitely not worth 18 pounds. Hope I've helped. x

i just bought a promo make up kit from Parkson Grand (Malaysia) consist of 3 lipsticks, lip liner, eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara.
after few days, i realized that all of d products are made in China. Need to know whether they are genuine/ original or not? Pls help...the lipsticks smell weird...like old stuff...can anyone tell me the truth?Elizabeth Arden Made in China??? ?

it depends on how oily your skin is, some perfumes react to some skin types causing a burning sensation which in turn leaves a red mark on the skin, the perfume you are talking about is quite a strong smelling perfume %26amp; probably has alot of alcohol in it, try it on the back of you hand first %26amp; leave five minutes, then if you like it buy it, I use it. Dont use it straight after a hot shower..will burn as it reacts with body wash %26amp; the smell wont last as long.

The FDA is rigid about lead and other ingredients..even in paint. Back in the 20's they did have to regulate them getting the ';lead out'; of some cosmetics...maybe that is what your teacher is referring to...I would not use cosmetics made in China

Be careful with lightening creams! They are bad news.
You should be very careful with fading creams that are sold without a prescription because some (many) can cause cancer in the long run. There are some pretty scary stories coming out of the UK about those types of creams.
I don't know Elizabeth Arden's product, but I would check with a dermatologist because going down that road.

You should be very careful with fading creams that are sold without a prescription because some (many) can cause cancer in the long run. There are some pretty scary stories coming out of the UK about those types of creams.
I don't know Elizabeth Arden's product, but I would check with a dermatologist because going down that road.

You should get someone from the boutique to help you find your right foundation before purchasing it. Maybe return it or exchange it for something different that's right for you..but you're just 13..it's best to keep your young skin away from foundation. If you do want to wear make-up I would recommend a tinted moisturizer. It covers and it's moisturizing. If your desire is to hide acne or anything at all.. maybe try a concealer that blends in well with your skin. Make sure you have a daily routine for your skin. If you do have acne..I do as well:(. I strongly recommend Clinique Acne Solutions. It works very well and is gentle enough to use twice a day. I just got it last week..it's working very well and controls oils..since acne is caused my clogs pores. GOOD LUCK!

As to your situation, this foundation is formulated for a different skin type then you most likely have, maybe you should go for another brand, like Clinque or something (if you have a choice). I love the Mineral makeups and totally swear by Everyday Minerals.

It's not a matter of whether or not it's safe for you to use, at 13 you don't really need foundation unless you have severe acne. If you do, then you should talk to a dermatologist before you use any kind of makeup; they can point you in the direction of a product that will help without damaging the skin as many commercial products can do. If you're skin is naturally healthy (with the omission of a few little pimples), then you should leave off foundation and stick to basic makeup.... natural eyeshadow, some liner, and lip gloss. There's no point in covering your face at this stage of your life. Cultivate your character and the rest will take care of itself. Cheers!

I don't know if you are willing to use something ';over the counter'; but the best foundation I have ever used is maybelline super stay silky foundation. It covered all of my problem areas and stays on the longest of anything Ive used. It also didnt clog my pores. It only costs about 9 dollars at any drug store or walmart. as for looking flushed try instead of using blush let your natural red in your cheeks kind of show through use a warm powder everywhere else to even skin and give you a finished look. I prefer pressed powder for the better coverage.
If it's redness you need to cover, get some of that green base. I've got some - doesn't make you look green, just counterbalances any red. No 7 do it for about 拢8.
I wouldn't go with a heavier foundation, it'll look cakey.

Personally, I didn't like EA's makeup. Sorry :-( Perhaps you will have a different experience. But it really depends on what you bought. For example, they are well known for their pancake foundation here in Texas because there are a lot of old school types that like that sort of stuff. I prefer sheer foundations. I also don't think their shadows and blushes are pigmented very well- they don't seem to blend as well as other types but more than that it just seems to take more shadow than other brands (such as M.A.C. and Stila). I have used their gloss and that is ok. I have never used Estee Lauder so I'm not sure about that. Again, just my opinion and I hope you are happy with your purchases!

Personally, i find it too heavy and greasy, but my mum has used it like since she was born or something and she swears by it. It's very thick, if thats how to like it. I find that the mouse ones are much better (especially the dream matte mouse) or mineral foundations.

Don't overdo it on the makeup. If you turn up looking like a cheap hooker, your manager isn't going to be impressed. Don't overdo the colours and keep it natural and subtle. Try not to overdo it on Arden products either - manager's hate try hard's. Make sure you are fresh faced, perky and your outfit is decent, ironed and cleaned. Hair should be tyed back neatly, or if left out, make sure it is frizz free and clean.
Speaking wise, talk only when talked to, and don't give extensive random answers. Keep it short, simple and sweet but not boring. Let your personality shine through and don't act nervous or scared - they thrive on confidence.

Elizabeth Arden just came out with a new perfume, called Mediterranean. I would like to know which stores carry it. I live in southern California. I need somewhere that both carries it, and has tester bottles available because I don't know what it smells like. The Macy's stores in my area don't carry Elizabeth Arden, and JC Penny's doesn't have tester bottles of them. I know it's available online, but I don't want to buy it without having smelled it before. How do they expect to sell any if people can't find it (and smell it before they purchase)? I know the tip is usually 15-20%. But the service is different and location is in a shopping center. They do a great job on my nails. I'm asking because sometimes they answer their personal phone, and speak in their language (which is uncomfortable), or get up and walk to the back without excusing themselves. etc. Not great courtesy or manners. I use the Green Tea Scent Spray and its the best! Its so refreshing. It would be perfect for a young girl.
I havent heard of tropical or lotus, I have only heard of the Scent Spray and the Intense Eau de Parfum Spray- which is a stronger form, but I would suggest the Scent Spray for a lighter scent.
